Furnaces
Furnaces are the heart of a typical “forced hot air” system. They burn natural gas or propane using burners and heat exchangers. A blower pulls air from the home, sends it across the hot heat exchanger and then back through ductwork to supply warm air to the home. This is one of the most common approaches to home heating on Cape Cod.
Robies has been installing Carrier® furnaces since our inception in 1959. We are Cape Cod’s only Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer and seven-time winner of Carrier’s prestigious President’s Award. Carrier furnaces are efficient, well designed, and high quality. Many are made right here in America in their facility in Indianapolis, Indiana – the most advanced & productive furnace manufacturing facility in the world. Carrier’s Infinity Series furnaces are the top choice for Robies customers with variable speed air handlers and modulating gas valves. These systems are able to adjust the gas valve BTU’s and the blower speed depending on a plethora of criteria according to the algorithm in the Carrier Infinity thermostat. Depending on previous run times, current set point differential and a long list of other factors, the furnace will automatically adjust its operation to deliver more precise comfort and lower utility bills.
Robies is one of the only remaining companies on Cape Cod with an in-house sheet metal shop where we fabricate our own ductwork. Fabricating and installing centrally ducted forced hot air systems is one of Robies’ specialties and something we are very proud of. We believe our duct systems are some of the best in this market and produce efficient, even, balanced comfort throughout the home.
Robies also specializes in natural gas conversions. Some homes currently have oil, electric heat or propane with interest in converting to natural gas. Not only does Robies have licensed gasfitters who are experienced and trained to perform the work, we also have support staff to work with you through the process of contacting National Grid to make arrangements for the conversion and setting up an account.
We also replace all existing brands and models of propane and natural gas furnaces. While many companies will simply remove the old and install the new, Robies takes great care in our process and assessment. We ensure the home has properly sized and designed ductwork, which often results in recommended adjustments or modifications. Our goal is for the new furnace to run at peak efficiency, as well as provide the home with optimal comfort during the winter months with even, balanced comfort throughout the home.
Robies also services all makes and models of natural gas and propane boilers and we offer an annual maintenance plan for furnaces and HVAC systems.
